Dr. Abeni Hester
MEET OUR NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Greetings Sandridge families and stakeholders,
My name is Dr. Abeni Hester and I am the new assistant principal and instructional coach for Sandridge Elementary School. On behalf of Sandridge Elementary School District 172, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your loved ones. I am super ecstatic to be here, proud to be a part of this beautiful community, and genuinely overjoyed to serve our students, teachers, parents, and community members. I have spent 13 spectacular years in education. Over the years, I have been a paraprofessional for some truly wonderful autistic and intellectually disabled students, a middle school science teacher focused on hands-on learning, a social studies teacher focused on embracing all cultures, an English Language Arts teacher incorporating student leadership inside and outside of the classroom, a National Junior Honor Society sponsor inspired by high-achieving students and community service efforts, a yearbook coordinator, a financial literacy instructor, a substitute math teacher, an assistant softball coach, a head coach for cheerleading and volleyball, a mentor, a mentee, and curriculum coordinator for five school districts.
In 2010, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, in 2013 I earned my master’s degree in school leadership, and in 2020 I earned my doctorate of education degree as a transformational leader. My journey at Sandridge School began last year June of 2022, as a sixth-grade teacher. My homeroom students were superheroes and superheroines every day. The growth and connection we shared, I want to share with all students. Education is my life and I love it! As an instructional coach and transformational leader, I have one very clear and specific goal. I am here to support Sandridge students to academic greatness. Throughout the school year, I will partner with teachers, parents, administrators, and all stakeholders to provide data-driven strategies to grow our students to their fullest potential. I ask you to join me on this journey to success. I am here to serve our students and this amazing community with my whole heart each and every day. If there is anything you need, please feel free to contact me at ahester@sandridgesd172.net.
Academic Success and Nothing Less,
